“ Very good padang food with a great selection of fish, meat, and veggies. You pick what you want and pay at the cashier. I have tried the otak (good), the beef rendang (excellent, tender, tasty, mildly spicy), the ayam gulai/curry (excellent, tasty, firm, juicy), the limpa/spleen (excellent, tender but chewy with great flavour), kerang masak pedas (excellent clams on a skewer), and the urap (veggies with a nice crunch, sweet and mildly spicy). The prices were reasonable, and the experience was a joy. The place was clean and abuzz with many customers coming and going. There were also many flies but this is probably par for the course in a largely rural tropical environment. ”

“ They generally serve in buffet style west Sumatran and local Belitung dishes which are flavourful, sometimes spicy and delicious overall. Place is well known and tourists from other parts of Indonesia also come here to dine. Sometimes from other parts of the world too. The service is friendly and they try to assist as much as possible and there is always someone who could converse in English although somewhat limited. Nevertheless the food is good and the spread of choices is interesting too from chicken to beef and to seafood. Stop by if you're in Belitung for some local treat. ”
